Form kontollerinde sıkça kullanılan bir özellik olan maxlength ile karakter uzunluğu sınırlaması yapabilmek mümkündür. Girilen değerler belirlenen maxlength sayısı kadar olabilir, fazlası yazılamaz. <input> ve <textarea> etiketleri ile birlikte kullanılır. Şimdi hemen bir örnekle açıklayalım.

Örnek

Kullanıcı Adı: <input type="text" name="kullanici_adi" maxlength="10">  // Kullanıcı Adı 10 karakterden fazla olamaz

<textarea maxlength="50">Yazılar gelecek...</textarea>  // Bu alan 50 karakterden fazla olamaz.
